March 15, 2012 Deadline for ADA Compliance For All ATMs
With The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Compliance looming for all financial institutions by March 15, 2012, many executives are researching the specific requirements and the best solutions needed to be deemed compliant.
These guidelines require financial institutions to implement a variety of auxiliary aids such as:
Function keys: Must be designed to be visually contrasted from the background surfaces.
Voice guidance: Must be speech enabled for the visually impaired
Display Screen: Characters must be in sans serif font, a minimum of 3/16 inch high and located 40 inches above the center of the floor
Braille instructions: Braille instructions to initiate the voice guidance feature

DBSI, Inc. hosted the celebration of International Credit Union Day at their new headquarters in Chandler for CUNA (Credit Union National Association Organization) and their members. “CUNA is a tremendous service organization for local, national and international credit unions dedicated to supporting and improving the lives of their members and families, and the communities where they live,” said DBSI CEO, John W. Smith. “It was an honor to be a part of this celebration and to help them commemorate their contributions and achievements in the past year.”

DBSI, Inc., expands its banking solution services with the acquisition of Hamilton Southwest Security. John W. Smith, CEO of DBSI stated, “What we are bringing into DBSI is 28 years of excellent customer service, an expanded solution set of leading products for our customers, and a market-trusted culture and brand that was developed from the beliefs and sweat of their owner Fred Aguilar.”
Banks and credit unions that make up the clientele of DBSI will now gain an even greater competitive advantage with the addition of this acquisition. The two companies’ tremendous compatibility allows for an increase in security systems offered, an expanded help desk, as well as an increase in available field technicians that offer on-site problem solving.

DBSI Inc. To Create New Cutting Edge Branch for GECU Credit Union
Chandler, AZ — DBSI, Inc., DBSI has been selected as the optimal candidate to manage the design plan and implementation of the newest branch of GECU.
GECU, El Paso’s largest locally owned financial institution, chose DBSI, Incorporated for the construction of the branch for its exceptional retail services and next generation branches that deliver a tangible performance. The GECU members selected this Chandler, AZ, company in February of 2011 as the Design Build Firm to bring the credit unions vision to life.
The vision for the new design is fashioned around the objective of serving the needs of soldiers and families stationed at the nearby Fort Bliss, the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery School. Members of this new facility will have access to cutting edge technology and revolutionary branch design. This design boasts the absence of a traditional teller line, and the access to convenient extended service hours. The 4,000sf TI will begin in April of 2011 with the completion date set for July 2011.
